1. About these terms
These Service Terms apply to services provided by Splash & Dash Car Wash & Detailing ("Splash & Dash," "we," "us," or "our") at 2560 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K1T 1M9. They apply when you use our self-serve wash or book or receive a detailing service.
These terms work together with the service description, confirmed appointment details, approved estimate, and any written agreement provided for a particular service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited under Ontario law.
2. Detailing bookings
Detailing appointments are booked through Square. Your appointment is confirmed when Square sends a confirmation. Appointment availability and reminders are managed through Square, but Splash & Dash provides the detailing service.
You must be the vehicle owner or have the owner's permission to book and authorize the work. Please provide accurate contact, vehicle, and appointment information so we can prepare for the service and reach you if needed.
We may need to reschedule because of staffing, equipment failure, safety concerns, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If that happens, we will make a reasonable effort to contact you and arrange another time.
3. Prices, estimates, and added work
Website prices are starting estimates. Vehicle size, condition, selected add-ons, and work beyond the normal package scope can change the estimate. Applicable taxes are added as required.
We will explain and obtain your approval for a price adjustment or added work before proceeding. You may decline added work, although that can affect what we are able to complete.
Online estimates are for planning and are not a final inspection of the vehicle. The final service scope and price are confirmed before work begins. Unless we agree otherwise, payment is due when the service is complete.
4. Timing, arrival, and pickup
Service durations are ballpark estimates. Vehicle condition, approved add-ons, equipment issues, and other unexpected conditions can affect completion time. We will communicate a material delay when reasonably possible.
Please arrive at the confirmed time. A late arrival may require us to reduce the approved scope with your agreement or reschedule the appointment. Please arrange to collect the vehicle promptly after we tell you it is ready.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice when cancelling or rescheduling. We do not currently charge a cancellation fee. Repeated missed appointments may result in limits on future advance bookings.
5. Vehicle access and authorization
By leaving a vehicle and its keys with us, you authorize Splash & Dash staff to unlock, start, operate, and move the vehicle only as reasonably necessary to inspect it, perform the approved service, reposition it on the property, and make it available for pickup.
Please tell us before work begins about known mechanical or electrical issues, aftermarket equipment, prior repairs, water leaks, loose trim, weak or damaged materials, and other conditions that may affect safe handling or cleaning.
6. Existing condition and personal belongings
Detailing can reveal scratches, stains, corrosion, fading, worn materials, loose components, or other conditions that were hidden by dirt or belongings. We are not responsible for damage that existed before the service or for the natural failure of a component that was already loose, brittle, worn, improperly installed, or defective.
Please remove money, valuables, important documents, child seats, and other personal belongings before the appointment. If items remain, tell us which items must not be moved. We will use reasonable care, but removing unnecessary belongings helps prevent loss, confusion, and incomplete cleaning.
7. What detailing can achieve
We will perform the selected service with reasonable care. Results depend on the vehicle's age, materials, previous treatments, damage, and condition. Permanent staining, embedded pet hair, odours, salt damage, corrosion, paint defects, and worn or discoloured materials may improve without being completely removed or restored.
Detailing is a cleaning service and does not promise to restore a vehicle to new condition. We do not perform mechanical, body, paint, or structural repair unless a separate service expressly says so.
8. Unsafe conditions and biohazards
We may pause, re-quote, limit, or decline work when a vehicle presents an undisclosed biohazard, pest infestation, sharp object, illegal material, unsafe electrical or mechanical condition, or another risk beyond the reasonably expected scope of the booked service. We will explain the concern and will not add work or charges without your approval.
9. Inspection photographs
We may take photographs before, during, and after detailing to document the vehicle's condition, confirm the work performed, support quality control, and resolve questions. A licence plate may appear incidentally in these photographs.
Inspection photographs are operational records, not marketing permission. We will not use identifiable vehicle photographs for advertising without separate permission. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
10. Final inspection and concerns
We encourage you to inspect the vehicle when collecting it and tell us about any concern. If you notice something after pickup, contact us within 48 hours when reasonably possible and include photographs or other useful details.
We will review legitimate concerns fairly and may ask to inspect the vehicle. Where appropriate, please give us a reasonable opportunity to correct an incomplete part of the service. The 48-hour request helps us investigate; it does not remove rights you may have under applicable law.
11. Self-serve wash and vacuums
Use the self-serve bays, pressure wands, foam brushes, vacuums, and payment equipment carefully and follow posted instructions. Inspect the brush and equipment before use, keep the pressure wand a safe distance from paint and fragile components, never direct equipment at a person, and supervise children on the property.
You are responsible for damage caused by your misuse of equipment or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions. Stop using equipment that appears damaged or is not working correctly and call us with the approximate time, bay, and payment method so we can investigate.
12. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle booking information and vehicle-condition records. Square has its own terms and privacy practices for its booking service. Other links and embedded services, including Google Maps, are operated by their respective providers.
13. Changes and Ontario law
We may update these terms when our services or practices change. The version presented when a service is booked or used applies to that transaction; changes do not retroactively replace an agreement already made.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Nothing in these terms waives a customer's rights under applicable consumer-protection law.
